An Elmwood Trail is a new Episodic mystery thriller game from Techyonic. With a similar style to the popular Duskwood, An Elmwood trial leads you through the story of the disappearance of 18 year old Zoey Lonard in the small town of Riverstone. Our guide is An Elmwood Trail walkthrough of all of the scenes in the game, we've tried to make it as spoiler free as possible.

As a private detective you have been warned off the case, but now a mystery informant has pressured you into take it on anyway. You are sent the girls phone, a crucial starting point and through talking to her friends and family and solving puzzles you begin to piece together the truth about the last night she was seen.

Elmwood Trail Walkthrough and Guide

This guide will give a walkthrough of the various puzzles and events in the game that you need to complete. If there are any questions that you still have for the game please head to the Answers Page to ask there.

This page is a guide for Episode 1 of the game. If you have completed that then we also have a guide for Episode 2 and all of the side trails that have been released so far.

Episode 3 is coming soon, you can see the latest details here. We will update and add to the guide as new episodes or contrent become available.

An Elmwood Trail Walkthrough - Episode 1

An Elmwood Trail is a dectective investigation story where you will be collecting clues and chatting with suspects to solve a missing person mystery. As you play through you will need to follow conversations and check though messages and photos to find clues.

Jan 13th 2023

Open Zoeys Phone

After receiving the first package from the mystery contact you will then also receive a second one containing Zoey's Phone.

Once it starts up you need to unlock it to access the messages.

The code can be found in the photos ind information in the first package.

Complete the data recovery process on Zoey's Phone

After talking to Lily you have a new task to complete the data recovery process. Switch to Zoey's phone and tap at the top of the screen, then on the task 'Recovering data...'.

This will start a puzzle. We have a separate guide solving the puzzles if you need help with these.

Task - Find out if Zoey went to the party.

Check the recovered messages next to find out if Zoey went to a party. Look for the highlighted messages and tap on them to note them down. You need to find 3 messages. They are in the chat with Betty.

Task - House party Location

Check the mail on Zoey's phone to find the passes from Betty.

Task - Gather info about the house at the location.

Go to Adams Phone and open the Browser App. Click on the Riverstone Map and enter the coordinates: 69.2N 77.1 W

Task - Find out Betty's contact to question her about the party.

Tap on Betty's profile at the top of her chat in the messages app. This will start a conversation with her on Adam's Phone.

You will then interrogate Betty.

Connect the Clues - First Set

At certain points in the story as you have questioned those involved and uncovered information you will need to Connect the relevant clues together. At these points you will be present with a list of 6 statements and you need to match up pairs to unlock your next objective.

The matching pairs for each of these are shown below.

There will also be a task to Select events in the order they happened. This is a similar puzzle and is included below. For this you just need to tap the statements in the correct order.

• Lilly said Zoey went straight to the party
• Zoey's parents and Betty Said that Zoey went to Lily's place.

• Where was Zoey last spotted?
• Whoever interacted with Zoey last must know something?

• Who was organizing this party?
• Betty doesn't want us to know more about the party.

Diary Page 1

Task - Read Zoeys Diary note

On Zoeys Phone is a Dairy app, there are 4 pages from her diary to read, each one is locked with a password and has a clue written to help you guess it. Use the other information from the phone to find the password.

Find Something that would spoil Betty's image.

Check the Gallery App on Zoe'y phone. There is an icon on the top left for hidden images. This brings up a Grid puzzle.

Hint: find the clue in Zoey's Diary Page 1

Solution:

Task - Make Betty Talk

Talk to Betty again and use the image to persuade her to talk.

Check the envelope on Adam's Desk, there is a photo of Zoey getting into a car.

Task - Find a website to get more info on the car.

Check Zoey's Phone - Mail - for an email from Fiesta Motor Infos, you can then go to the website on Adam's Phone.

Enter the car details from the photo then find matches and Look for one that matches the partial license plate.

Details:

There are 2 possible options. You can try chatting with both. The one you need is Mike Davies, chat to him to get more information.

Connect the Clues - Second Set

As before select the related statements

1. Only way to get Kyle's number is through his girlfriend.
2. Betty runs a website and spams everyone about her merch.

1. Someone knew Mike likes Zoey and waited for the right moment to snap the photo.
2. The photo and note were sent anonymously.

1. Zoey and Brad had a terrible Fight.
2. Zoey had left the party and was sitting alone outside.

As before one Zoey's Phone tap the top and then on the Recovering Data option. This starts another puzzle. See the Data Recovery Puzzles Walkthrough for help.

Check the mail app on Zoey's Phone, then check Betty's website.

You can now go to Zoeys diary on her phone and open the second page. Check the Dairy Page Walkthrough for help.

Task - Talk to Betty

Task - Access Pixabowl to find out more about the party.

Log into Pixabowl

Go to the Pixabowl app on Zoey's Phone. Use the forgot password link to get a Hint. You need the name of Zoey's Pet.

Check her gallery for photos of her cat and there will be one that you cannot see properly. View this and then tap the Edit icon on the lower right. This lets you adjust the brightness and focus. Change it until you can see the name

Solution:

Use the password in the Forgot Password box to then log in.

Look for a photo of Lily at the Party. You can then talk to Lily again.

Connect the Clues - Third Set

1. Brad and Zoey fight amidst the pool party.
2. Brad's dare to spoil Zoey's dress.

1. Lily was at the party and didn't want us to know about it.
2. Photo of Lily being pushed by someone into the pool

1. Zoey was clearly affected and very upset according to what Mike said.
2. Kyle called Zoey and Brad's fight a minor argument.

Task - Talk to Zac

You will receive a call recording

Phone Call Recording

Listed to the recording audio, you will here a series of taps. Count the taps to get a sequence of numbers.

Solution:

Now use the phone app on Adam's phone to cal the number. It is Riverstone Carwash

You may need to call more than once. When you get the option to dial 2 to join the club try this. After it hangs up your should get a new message.

Task - Talk to the unknown number

Select the events in the order they happened

Task - Recreate the sequence of events

1. Zoey leaves Lily's place for the Party.
2. Drinks, games along the poolside with Betty Kyle and Brad.
3. Someone spills a drink over Zoey's dress on Brad's dare.
4. Rajan trespasses and is knocked down by Kyle and other guys.
5. Lily arrives to get Rajan when some girl pushes her into the pool.
6. Zoey escapes outside feeling devastated because of brad and everything else.
7. Mike approaches her on the porchbut ends up imposing his feelings for her in his car.
8. Zoey pushes Mike and walks out away from the worst night of her life. She later calls Zac around 11pm

The fourth page of the diary is now accessible, you need to solve the clue to unlock it.

Task - Figure out the purpose of the strange email that Zoey Received.

Check Zoey's email app and look through the emails for anything suspicious.

Solution:

Use the web browser on Adam's phone to visit the site. You can start a mini game

Find a way to the Vault

This is a text adventure type game where you need to make movement choices to navigate your way to the vault at the end.

Select from the options shown. If you need help you can check the Vault8 walkthrough.

Once you complete this you will have a code.

Dial the carwash number again and choose option 3, then option 2 to enter the membership number.

Enter the code.

Connect the Clues - Fourth Set

1. The number Zoey tried to give her brother is of a car wash that required some sort of a code.
2. The car wash membership code was retrieved from Vault8.

1. Zoey received a red envelope with a strange symbol.
2. The Vault8 website also had that strange symbol.

1. Lake Isle in Elmwood Forest was Zoey's favorite spot to go.
2. Vault8 seems to talk about a city and a forest with lake.

Data Recovery

Start the next data recovery puzzle on Zoey's phone. THis is the 4th data recovery puzzle.

It is a light out style of puzzle wher you need to turn all of the squares grey.

Task - Read the recovered group chat and gather useful information.

Check the message on Zoey's phone for the 'Chick and Kicks' chat.

Task - Contact Brad to question him about the case

Task - Spy on the group chat activity

Task - talk to Brad.

When brad send the document tap it to open it.

The file will try to lock you out of the phone. You will then need to use the A.I. assistant Paul to recover.

There are 4 question to answer, the answers can be found by chatting to contacts on Adam's phone, past conversations or calling numbers.

Go to your desk and open the envelope.

Task - Connect the retrieved Clues.

Connect the Clues - Fifth Set

1. Brad and his friends denied being involved in anything and are planning something at his place.
2. Brad Kyle and Betty are definitely hiding something suspicious.

1. Attempt to wipe Zoey's phone data through a trojan file sent in the group chat.
2. Brad's group knows that we have Zoey's phone and don't want us to find something on it.

1. Zoey's bracelet was found near the lake.
2. The strange symbol that Zoey had received is on Vault8 and now also the crumpled paper Kevin sent us.
